Clarke Interim President
VANCOUVER, BC: The Board of Directors of Great Quest Metals Ltd.

(TSXV: GQ, Frankfurt: GQM) ("Great Quest" or the "Company") announces that it has appointed John A.

Clarke interim President, effective January 6, 2012.

The Board would like to thank Victor J.E.

Jones for his leadership in the development of the Companys Malian assets.

He will continue to serve the Company in the capacity as Chief Financial Officer.

The Board of the Company has also granted an incentive stock option to a director of one of its subsidiaries to purchase up to 100,000 shares at a price of $1.64 per share.

The stock option is for a five year period and vests over two years, in accordance with the Companys Stock Option Plan, and is subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval.
