It has done well throughout the credit crunch.

The rational investor would think gold stocks since they're leveraged to the price of gold to have done even better. However, Major gold stocks (as tracked by the Philly Gold and Silver Index - XAU) are down 20%.

Junior gold stocks have fared even worse. The McEwen Junior Gold Index is down 40%. Some of the hardest hit junior gold stocks are down more than 80%.

A situation where gold goes up and gold stocks go down way down cannot and will not last.

And with governments around the world facing ever-deepening deficits, no widespread economic recovery in sight, and soaring demand from precious metals from the world's top hedge fund managers to the small retail buyer, the fundamentals for gold are stronger than ever.

That's why the Bottom Line Report expects gold stocks to slingshot higher in the months and years ahead. And we're looking for the most beaten-up, out-of-favor, junior gold stocks in the market with near-term catalysts to return them to their past highs and beyond.

One of those extremely out-of-favor junior gold stocks about to slingshot past the rest of the gold market is Sona Resources <a href=" Here's why.

Plenty Room to Run

In the fall of 2007 the markets were setting new all-time highs. The Dow was hanging around 14,000 and the market only had its first whiff of the widespread impact of the housing bubble.

There was no sector left behind. Everything was up and the sky was the limit. Gold was no exception.

On its original march to $1,000 an ounce, the rising price of gold lifted everything gold. Big, small, or tiny it didn't matter. Gold was going much higher and investors wanted gold stocks at nearly any price. At the time, Sona Resources hit a high of $4.75 per share.

Jump ahead to todayThe fundamentals for gold are even better, we're two years closer to the coming euphoric bubble in gold, and Sona Resources shares are trading for less than 50 cents and a market value of less than $9 million.
That means Sona Resources shares could run up 850% without setting a new high. And with what's coming around the corner, the old highs are definitely within reach.

High-Grade Gold in the Land of Giants

Back before gold was even on Wall Street's radar, Sona Resource's top-tier management team was amassing a portfolio of high-quality gold projects for a fraction of what they're worth today.

Take Sona's two key gold projects are Blackdome and Elizabeth for example. They are located about 30 km apart right in the middle of British Columbia's most prolific gold mining district the Bralorne-Pioneer mining district. The district has produced more than four million ounces of gold of gold from the mid-1920s through 1972.

Also, if you look right in between the two properties (about 15 km from both of them) you'll find the Poison Mountain Copper-Gold-Moly Deposit. If that project sounds familiar, it should. Poison Mountain is mining giant Barrick Gold's development property has massive reserves of 280 million tonnes grading 0.261% copper, 0.142 g/tonne gold, , 0.007% molybdenum and 0.514 g/tonne silver.

Sona, exploring and developing projects in the land of giants, clearly has a lot of potential from a big picture perspective. But it is the specific details of its projects that really show the value of Sona.

Blackdome

Blackdome is a past-producing mine. In the 30s and 40s more than 250,000 ounces of gold was extracted from the Blackdome mine. The average grade was more than 20 g/t gold.

Needless to say, Blackdome has the goods a lot of them and the market is about to be shown how much it really has.

Currently, top mining consulting firm SRK International is completing a new resource estimate for Blackdome. The last one that was completed in 2001 and stated Blackdome had 124,000 tonnes of 12.8 g/t gold. That works out to 51,000 ounce gold resource.

Granted, that's a bit modest, but it was complete nine years ago. Today, after eight years of development, Blackdome has a much, much higher potential. And with a property size of 275,000 square km, there's a lot of room for expansion.

Perhaps best of all though is the mining infrastructure is still in place at Blackdome. There are roads running all around and through the property. And there's already a mill on site that was originally built in the 80s and is still in great shape.

Everything is in place for Blackdome to start churning out the gold in the next couple of years. But Blackdome is just part of the equation that will help push Sona back to its previous valuation levels.

Elizabeth

About 30 km down the proverbial street from Blackdome is the Elizabeth property.

Since optioning the property in 2002, Sona has developed Elizabeth into a high-grade gold project with a solid resource and a lot of potential.
Currently, Elizabeth has an inferred resource estimate of 523,000 tonnes of 12.3 g/t gold. That works out to a resource of 206,000 ounces of very high-margin gold.

Just take a look at a few of Sona's drilling and resource definition results below:

<col width="80*" /> <col width="85*" /> <col width="91*" />

Elizabeth Project Drill Results

Hole

Gold Grade

Width

E07-43

37.5 g/t

11.20m

E07-48

10.5 g/t

4.53m

E07-44

10.4 g/t

4.50m

E07-50

21.3 g/t

1.15m

*Source: Sona Resources

It doesn't take long to see that Elizabeth has delivered some very high-potential results.

But that's just the start of it. Sona has successfully permitted a $5 million exploration program slated to begin this year. The aggressive program will consist of 2,800 meters of surface diamond drilling and 4,500 meters of underground diamond drilling to expand the already-sizeable gold resource at Elizabeth.

The Full Portfolio

Sona's impressive portfolio doesn't stop at Blackdome and Elizabeth though (although by themselves, they're certainly "company-maker" style projects).

The company has acquired 100% ownership of a property in Quebec, Canada. The property is adjacent to Aurizon Mines' (TSX:ARZ) Casa Berardi Mine which hosts ,more three million ounces of gold reserves and resources.

Sona also owns the exclusive rights to a gold exploration property in the heart of Nevada gold mining country.

It sure doesn't hurt to have some high-potential exploration projects in some very attractive places, but the company's focus is still on maximizing the potential of Blackdome and Elizabeth. And they're doing that very quickly.

Shifting into High Gear

IN the next few weeks and months, years worth of work and investment are going to culminate for Sona.

As you read, Micon International is completing a preliminary economic assessment of Blackdome and Elizabeth gold deposits. The full results should be released to the public in spring of 2010.

Beyond that, Sona has already started laying the groundwork to have these mines in production as soon as possible.

For instance, after Micon International's assessment is completed, Sona is moving onto more advanced project development stages including: feasibility studies, an economic study of Blackdome tailings, acquiring additional permits, and more exploration and resource expansion.

There will be plenty of news to keep the market interested Sona and the years of leg work will start paying off as Sona completes the pre-production processes on its way to becoming an operation miner.

Pulling it Altogether

Clearly, Sona Resources has a lot going on and it's going to take a team

Sona's management team includes:

Nick Ferris, Executive Chairman - 25 years experience in finance and marketing.

John P. Thompson, P.Eng., Chief Operating Officer - 35 years experience in mineral exploration and mining.

John Harrop, P.Geo., Senior Geologist - 25 years experience in mineral exploration.

Wayne Cahill, MBA, CGA, Chief Financial Officer - 20 years experience corporate accounting.

Everything is in place. Sona has the right people, the right projects, and it's all coming together at the right time.

Indeed, all that makes a great company. But it takes a bit more to push Sona shares from 50 cents back to its previous $4+ per share stock price. And that's actually the most compelling part of Sona right now.

The Bottom Line

Earlier when identified Sona Resources shares as being "out-of-favor," we were probably being a bit too kind.

Right now, at 50 cents per share and a just under 17.5 million shares outstanding (on a fully diluted basis), Sona has a market value of less than $9 million.

In a world where gold's at $1,100 an ounce, other junior gold stocks which are in similar stages of mine development are fetching $50 to $100 million valuations, and there is plenty of resource expansion and exploration opportunity for Sona, $9 million is truly rock-bottom pricing for Sona.

On top of all that, Sona has already proven it has the goods to attract the market's attention. The last time Sona Resources shares were this low in 2001 (when gold was $300 an ounce!), they ran up 850%.

With everything Sona has going on, it's a high probability it all could happen again. The only difference is, this time you won't have to miss out.

Follow Sona Resources' progress at: <a href="

<a href=" Click Here for a Free Real-time Stock Quote on TSX-V: SYS

Disclaimer: Vantage Communications Ltd. was paid to distribute this bulletin.
Vantage Communications may or may not own securities in this particular company.
THIS IS NOT A RECOMMENDATION TO BUY OR SELL ANY SECURITY!
You are on this mailing list because you registered for VantageWire News.
Past performance of Companies mentioned does not guarantee future performance.

If you would like to opt out <a href=" here.

For more information about this service, please contact
Vantage Communications Ltd. at 1.800.574.0901
Suite 550 - 666 Burrard St, Vancouver, British Columbia V6C 3P6

This email complies with the US Federal CAN-SPAM Act of 2003

<IMG ALT="" SRC=" WIDTH=1 HEIGHT=1>
