Excalibur Mining [ASX: EXM] - Browns Range / Tanami Drilling To Commence

Excalibur Mining Corporation (ASX: EXM) is scheduled to commence drilling at its Browns Range project in the Tanami Desert, Northern Territory.

A first pass program of approximately 10,000 metres of shallow RAB drilling is planned for June.

The drilling program will test a number of targets identified from the interpretation of magnetic, electromagnetic and radiometric data derived from the airborne geophysics.

The Company is of the view that the tenements have potential to host East Alligator River style poly-metallic deposits of gold, uranium and platinum group metals.

Excalibur�s Project tenement, EL 25207, is located wholly on the Supplejack Downs pastoral lease.

It is over 1,400 km2 in size.

While Excalibur�s core focus remains at Tennant Creek, the Tanami assets represent a very exciting prospect for a major new discovery.

Mr Lagdon, Excalibur�s Managing Director said: �This area fits a well known model for the target mineralization.

The rocks are right, the structure is right.

We also have coincident radiometric, magnetic and electromagnetic indicators.

Drilling it makes eminent sense with such large targets, some of which are over 5 km long�.

The Company has been waiting for the end to the wet season which has delayed plans from last year following the restructuring of the Browns Range assets� ownership.

The Tanami region has emerged as one of Australia�s major gold provinces with high-grade deposit ranging from less than 500,000 ounces up to 5 million ounces.

To date more than 11 million ounces of gold have been discovered.
