News Release Friday, March 05, 2010 Rainy River Drill Program Continues on "Burns" Block, NW Ontario To: .

Vancouver, BC - Bayfield Ventures Corp.

(TSX-V: BYV) (FWB: B4N) (the "Company") reports that a drill rig has been mobilized back onto the Company's 100% owned Burns Block in the Richardson township, Rainy River district of Northwestern Ontario.

The Burns Block is situated immediately to the east, on strike, of the Rainy River Resources (TSX-V: RR) main ODM17 gold deposit.

Drilling will commence immediately. Rainy River district property claims map:
The objective of this drill program is to continue to explore and expand the extension and continuity of gold mineralization that is being delineated in the ODM17 Zone by Rainy River Resources on their ground adjacent to Bayfield's western boundary. Gold reserves on the Rainy River Resources property were reported on March 2, 2010 as 56,833,000 tonnes at 1.3 g/t gold indicated (2.37 million ounces) in addition to 68,930,000 tonnes at 1.2 g/t gold inferred (2.66 million ounces).

These resources were arrived at using a 0.4 g/t gold cut off. 10 holes have been drilled to date on the Bayfield Ventures Burns Block totaling 4841 metres.

Previous drilling includes Hole NR08-283, which was collared near the eastern boundary of Rainy River Resources property but deviated eastward where, approximately 30 metres inside Bayfield's Burns Block; it intersected a 4.5 metre interval grading 7.34 g/t gold at the 420 metre level.

Drill hole NR08-294 intersected a 4.5 metre interval grading 2.24 g/t gold at the 263 metre level.

Holes NR08-296 and NR08-304 targeted the east extension of the ODM17 zone intersected in hole NR08-283.

NR08-296 cut a broad 25 metre interval grading 0.89 g/t gold.

Hole NR08-304 intersected 43.5 metres grading 0.78 g/t gold including two zones from 178.5 to 183 metres and 204 to 208.5 metres grading 2.0 g/t gold and 3.0 g/t gold respectively.

The previous drill program was designed to establish some length and strike of the ODM17 zone. "Burns" Block location map, Rainy River, NW Ontario
Recent drilling includes RR10-1 which encountered intervals of 16.5 metres grading 1.20 g/t gold and 7.5 metres grading 1.77 g/t gold at depth from 187 metres to 204 metres.

RR10-2 intersected 12 metre interval of 0.54 g/t gold at a depth of 324 metres.

These intercepts relate directly to the extension of the ODM17 Zone onto the Burns block.

RR10-3 targeted the down dip of the North Zone of Rainy River Resources and encountered intervals of 7.0 metre interval grading 0.72 g/t gold, 1 metre interval grading 4.83 g/t gold, and a 1 metre interval grading 9.51 g/t gold at a depth of 728 metres to 745 metres. Drilling on the Burns Block has confirmed the widespread distribution of gold within two litho-structural intervals directly on strike with the ODM17 Zone and North Zone of Rainy River Resources.

Shallow intercepts reported by Bayfield Ventures along the strike extension of the ODM17 Zone of Rainy River Resources indicates that above gold cut off grade material (0.4 g/t) continues onto the Burns Block.

The zones of mineralization occur in felsic metavolcanics within zones of stronger penetrative foliation.

The foliation is near coincident with the strike and dip of the lithologies.

Gold grade appears to be strongly influenced by proximity to the margins of strong sericitic alteration within the shear system.

The zones strike at 120 degrees and dip at around 50 degrees to the southeast on the Burns Block property. Additional drilling will focus on establishing continuity and grade at depths within the shell of a potential open pit mine.
