It is an interesting example of how thoughtful and systematic exploration work can lead to major discoveries and generate wealth for shareholders. This video details how Havilah, after it first acquired the project in 2003, used the Vulcan 3D software to integrate the extensive drilling data of Placer, Newcrest and MIM into a geological exploration model.

In 2004, 65 consecutive RC drillholes designed by Havilah to test the Kalkaroo 3D geological model, all intersected ore-grade mineralisation and resulted in expansion of the resource from Placers 5-10Mt estimate to 70Mt within a period of twelve months.

Subsequent drilling has continued to expand the copper-gold resource to over 140Mt, and going forward Havilah believes that it can apply its detailed understanding of the geology of the deposit to drill-target areas for further expansion of the resource.
