St Andrew Goldfields Ltd.

- Appointment of President and Chief Executive Officer

TORONTO, Sept.

16, 2013 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors of St Andrew Goldfields Ltd.

(TSX-SAS) (OTCQX-STADF),
("SAS" or the "Company") is very pleased to announce the appointment, effective as of October 1, 2013, of Duncan Middlemiss, P.Eng., as President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of SAS, in succession to Jacques Perron.

While external candidates, as well as internal candidates, were considered by the Board, the excellent performance of Duncan Middlemiss as Chief Operating Officer and Vice-President of Operations, and his intimate knowledge of the operations and activities of SAS in Northeastern Ontario, made his appointment logical and appropriate in maintaining the SAS objective of consistent reliable gold production.

Duncan Middlemiss graduated from Queens University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering and then had six years with INCO Ltd in their Sudbury operations.  This was followed by seven years with Barrick Gold Corporation at the Holt-McDermott Mine, now owned and operated by SAS, and then six years with Kirkland Lake Gold Inc.

at the Macassa Mine, all of which has contributed to his extensive background and knowledge of working with the various stakeholders in mining operations in Northeastern Ontario.

As Jacques Perron and Duncan Middlemiss have worked closely together since 2008, in bringing SAS to its current steady operating performance, the Board of SAS anticipates a smooth transition for this logical evolution at the senior management level.
