MARKET COMMENTARY FOR OCT 09, 2012

Stocks are up slightly despite the International Monetary Fund cuts its forecast for global growth by two tenths of a percentage point. The IMF now expects the worlds economy to grow at 3.3% this year and 3.6% in 2013. The cuts in estimates are sweeping, meaning that they take down virtually every country for 2013 estimates, the biggest declines, as usual, coming out of Europe. The area as whole has been revised to contraction of 0.4% this year, and growth of just 0.2% in 2013. The full 228 page report can be found here.
