MARKET COMMENTARY FOR AUG 16, 2012

Once again markets are mixed overseas, having closed higher in most of Asia, except notably in China. Aussie shares had a strong day on good volume after some positive earnings reports from grocer/retailer Wesfarmers and insurer AMP. Japanese electronics manufacturers pushed the NIKKEI higher by 1% as well, but the magic so far has not spread to Europe, where trading is mixed. Spain is seeing the biggest lift, while no other markets are notable in their moves.
