("Firestone" or the "Company")
(FV:TSX-V; F5V:FSE) is pleased to announce the appointment and the
addition of two new members to its Advisory Board; Dr.
Keith Barron,
Ph.D.
and Mr.
Terry Tucker, P.
Geo.
"Both Dr.
Barron and Mr.
Tucker have previous significant discovery
successes and are welcome additions to Firestones strategic advisory
committee.
Both will assist Firestone with identifying geological and
development opportunities as well as strategic initiatives to move the
company forward.
Firestone has been advancing its zinc-lead-silver
projects in anticipation of a supply gap with several of the worlds
major zinc mines closing within the next few years." said Lori Walton,
President and CEO of Firestone.
"Both new advisors just completed
on-site due diligence accompanied by Ms.
Pamela Strand, Firestones new
Executive Vice President.
In addition, Firestone has met with
government officials in Guatemala who have outlined the new Presidents
action plan on resource development."
Dr.
Barron is an exploration geologist with over 30 years experience
in the mining sector.
He has consulted on all the continents except for
Antarctica, searching for such commodities as gold, silver, diamonds,
uranium, copper, platinum, and industrial minerals.
He holds a Ph.D.
in
Geology from the University of Western Ontario and a BSc.
(Hons) in
Geology from the University of Toronto.
In 2001 he privately co-founded
Ecuador gold explorer Aurelian Resources Inc., which was listed on the
TSX-V in 2003 and made the Fruta del Norte gold discovery in 2006.
The
company was bought by Kinross Gold in 2008 for $1.2 billion.
He is the
founder and a Director of U3O8 Corp.
(UWE:TSX-V) exploring for uranium
in Guyana, Argentina and Colombia.
In 2008 he was awarded the PDACs
Thayer Lindsley International Discovery Award for his role in the
discovery of the Fruta del Norte gold deposit and he was also jointly
named the Northern Miners Mining Man of the Year 2008.
Dr.
Barron
continues his activities through two private companies, Solidus
Resource Capital Ltd.
and Aurania Resources Ltd.
in the search for
worldwide mining and exploration opportunities.
Mr.
Terry Tucker, P.
Geo.
has 25 years experience in mineral
exploration and development projects worldwide.
Most recently Mr.
Tucker was the CEO and Director of Nyota Minerals Limited (AIM, ASX:
NYO) focused on advancing an advanced stage gold project in Ethiopia.
Mr.
Tucker was also President & CEO and Director of TSX-listed
StrataGold Corporation, where he successfully advanced the exploration
and development of two gold projects in both Guyana and Canada before
the companys acquisition by Victoria Gold Corp (TSX-V: VIT) in June
2009.
Previously Mr.
Tucker was responsible for a number of exploration
projects in northern Canada, including the discovery of the Wolverine
Mine gold-rich massive sulphide deposit.
His experience includes a
number of prominent roles at strategic, operational and corporate
levels.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology
(Specialization) from the University of Alberta, Canada and is a
registered professional geoscientist in British Columbia.
Currently Mr.
Tucker continues his activities in Europe primarily involved in
financial services related to the mining sector.
About Firestone
Firestone has been working in Guatemala since 2004.
Our main project
is the Torlon Hill zinc-lead-silver project in Guatemala, Central
America.
The combined Measured and Indicated Resource totals 1,891,636
tonnes grading 7.32% zinc, 2.41% lead and 14.25 g/t silver (at a 3%
zinc-equivalent cut-off).
An additional 169,705 tonnes is classified
as Inferred resources grading 4.42% zinc, 1.96% lead and 12.53 g/t
silver (see news release Nov.
18, 2008).
In addition, there is a basal
zone of unoxidized sulphide mineralization which is not yet well
defined by the drilling to date.
The deposit remains open to expansion
and high-grade zinc oxide mineralization defined to date is on or near
surface.
