Gold (now New Pacific Metals Corporation (TSXV:NUX) when they drilled the
original discovery hole at Goddell:
...................the system is richer to the east (are higher
grade than those at Skukum) and, as a result, the decline will be extended a
further 350 feet east to allow for additional drilling.

WHITEHORSE, Yukon--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 3, 1997--Trumpeter (Alberta Stock
Exchange:TYG.)
Trumpeter Yukon Gold Inc.
today announced results from drilling at the
Goddell Shear project located south of Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, operated
by Omni Resources Inc.
The most significant drill hole to date yielded a
spectacular 174 feet of 0.200 oz gold per ton, including 106.8 feet of 0.299
oz gold and 48.2 feet of 0.594 oz gold.
This hole is located more than 115
feet to the east of any previously drilled holes and is also in an
unexplored section of the property.
The latest drill results further substantiate that the system is richer to
the east and, as a result, the decline will be extended a further 350 feet
east to allow for additional drilling.

The gold mineralization is associated with arsenopyrite, stibnite and pyrite
and contains a trace amount of silver.
The system is open in all directions.
Trumpeter also announced today the exercise of an additional 750,000 Omni
common share warrants at $1.50 per share.
The remaining number of Omni
warrants to be exercised on or before June 5, 1997 is 1,500,000 at $1.50.
Trumpeter Yukon Gold Inc.
can earn a 50 percent interest in Omnis
properties upon completion of a $7.5 million financing, more than half of
which has been funded to date.
The Goddell property is under option from
Arkona Resources Inc.
whereby Omni may earn up to 70 percent of the property
by spending $4,000,000 over four years.
Trumpeter Yukon also owns a 100
percent interest in the Arctic Mine which would be mined and processed along
with ores from the Omni properties.
Trumpeter has a 50 percent interest in
the Tawa property and the Aurchem option, both of which are immediately on
strike to the northwest of the producing Mt.
Nansen Mine (100 percent owned
by B.Y.G.
Natural Resources Inc.
