VANCOUVER, Sept.

7, 2011 /CNW/ - Tumi Resources Limited (the "Company") (TSXV-TM; Pinksheets - TUMIF; Frankfurt - TUY).  Mr.

David Henstridge, President, announces that metallurgical test work has started on La Trini to ascertain the leachability of two different types of mineralization.  A contract has been signed with Mountain States R&D International Inc.

(MSI) of Vail, Arizona to undertake the work.  This program is a result of the Companys decision to reactivate work on the La Trini resource due to the significant increase in the price of gold and silver over the last few years (see press release dated June 29, 2011).

Between December 2005 and October 2007, the Company undertook three reverse circulation drill programs at La Trini.

At the completion of analyses of all Phase 3 drill holes, a resource calculation was undertaken by an independent qualified geologist in keeping with NI43-101 requirements (see press release February 11, 2008).

The Company has selected 25 kg from each of two different mineral types for test-work-near surface oxidized and primary sulphide.  Samples selected were reject coarse crush material from two reverse circulation drill holes TRC-43 and TRC-48 with sample grades of 97 g/t silver, 1.9 g/t gold and 267 g/t silver and 0.5 g/t gold, respectively.  Preliminary test-work to be undertaken by MSI includes head assays, cyanidation bottle leach tests, flotation tests, a preliminary mineralogical study and size-assay analysis.  If successful, the Company may decide to run column leach tests under a Phase two work program.

At La Trini, Company personnel rehabilitated old grid lines located at 100 m spacing across two kms of strike length of the known mineralization.  They were prepared for a planned three-dimensional induced polarization survey to seek possible repeats of the known mineralization.  Due to the onset of the rainy season in June/July and the difficulty of access and undertaking such a survey in very wet conditions, the survey was postponed until the wet season is over.

Mr Henstridge stated: "It is a very important step forward, commencing metallurgical test-work on La Trini mineralization, to ensure that the mineral types can be treated by conventional processing techniques.  If successful, the Company will continue quickly down the path towards a scoping study."

On behalf of the Board,

"David Henstridge"
David Henstridge, President & CEO
