Select Contracts contracted to develop ParkVida (MMGC.OB)
PRESS RELEASE
Select Contracts contracted to
develop ParkVida
Select Contracts, specialists in designing, building and operating all
types of leisure and entertainment projects around the world, has been
contracted to develop ParkVida, an eco adventure resort located at the
top of the beautiful Cordillera Central mountain range in the Dominican
Republic.
The 700 acre, former coffee plantation site that sits next to a national
park has much to offer and the project plans to have a host of exciting
adventure activities for guests to enjoy.
The resort will have 200 hotel
rooms, some near the peak of the mountains with stunning views, some as
tree houses, some on the edge of the beautiful river that meanders
through the site and some nestled into the natural landscape.
The main adventure activities will be downhill and cross country
mountain biking with 3,000ft of vertical, a dedicated solar powered
chairlift for the uphill return.
Other activities will be zip lining,
adventure rope courses, water slides, hiking, fishing, mule riding, quad
biking, cultural classes, eco tours and coffee growing experiences.
Chris Sutton, CEO of Select Contracts, said "The ParkVida project is
fantastic and being involved in it from this very early stage is
essential as it will now be able to develop in a strategic, professional
and controlled manner.
ParkVida is essentially a mountain bikers dream
holiday destination.
It is a bike park designed by bikers for bikers.
It
doesnt stop there though.
It will be for the adventurous at heart, but
also for those who are looking for an escape from the daily stresses of
life.
So, whether you are a mountain biker, an adrenaline junkie or just
somebody who wants to sit on your balcony, read your book and enjoy the
scenery, hospitality and great service, then ParkVida is for you.
ParkVida truly is a place to unplug, recharge, expereince and explore..."
Select Contracts have already completed the first phase of the project,
which was the market study, masterplan, business plan and development
strategy.
Investment for the project is now being sought, and planning
permissions obtained, for construction to commence by the end of the 3rd
quarter of 2011.
ParkVida will have its own dedicated Sales & Marketing
Office in Whistler and will have a stand at Crankworx 2011, also at
Whistler.
