Sable Mining Africa - results from Lubu coal field in Zimbabwe confirm high coking coal fraction

Sable Mining Africa Ltd/ Index: AIM / Epic: SBLM / Sector: Natural Resources 17 February 2011 Sable Mining Africa Limited (Sable Mining or the Company) Second Batch of Results From Lubu Coal Field in Zimbabwe Sable Mining Africa Ltd, the AIM listed resource company, is pleased to announce further results from its Lubu Coal Concession (Lubu), which covers 19,236 hectares of the highly prospective Karro Mid-Zambezi coal basin in the established Hwange (Wankie) mining district in north-western Zimbabwe.

The second batch of results received from the ALS laboratory in South Africa, were taken from five boreholes drilled at Lubu. The results listed in Table 1 below confirm the high grades published in the recent results on 7 February 2011 and again underline the high coking coal fractions across multiple seams.

The Main Seam thickness ranged from 20.40m to 15.14m confirming the continuity of the coal formation.

The Swelling Indices were slightly higher peaking at 8.5, while the calorific values, ash content and volatility strongly correlated to the first batch of positive results.

Importantly the average yields have increased from 21% to 26% in the new batch of samples. A total of 350 samples have now been submitted to the laboratory, of which 198 have been returned in two batches.

Results from the first batch confirmed an upward revision of the inferred resource to 360 million tonnes of Main Seam coal only.

No JORC or SAMREC compliant resource estimates currently exist for Lubu. Phase 2 of the drilling programme has now commenced.

This will both in-fill the Phase 1 drill holes, in order to publish a JORC compliant resource on Lubu, and start the drilling of Area 2, which is south of the current drill location.

Two new targets within the Special Grant area have been identified that present a good opportunity for additional shallow coal which will also be explored in the near future, providing a further opportunity for an increase in the Companys resource tonnes. Sable Mining CEO Andrew Groves said, "This second batch of results further confirms the potential for Lubu to host a large metallurgical and thermal coal deposit.

The continuity of data is excellent and the uplift in yield is an added positive.

Our aim is to rapidly advance Lubu through further drilling in order to upgrade the current 360 million tonne estimate and publish a JORC compliant resource." The information in this announcement that relates to Mineral Exploration results and Mineral Resources, together with any related assessments and interpretations, have been reviewed by Johan Erasmus, a qualified geologist and consultant to the Company.

Johan Erasmus has sufficient experience which is relevant to the style of mineralisation and type of deposit under consideration and to the activity which he is undertaking to qualify as a qualified person as defined by the AIM Note for Mining and Oil & Gas Companies. ** ENDS ** For further information please visit www.sablemining.com or contact: Andrew Groves Sable Mining Africa Ltd Tel: 020 7408 9200 Jonathan Wright Seymour Pierce Ltd Tel: 020 7107 8000 David Foreman Seymour Pierce Ltd Tel: 020 7107 8000 Robin Henshall Matrix Corporate Capital Tel: 020 3206 7000 Nick Stone Matrix Corporate Capital Tel: 020 3206 7000 Hugo de Salis St Brides Media & Finance Ltd Tel: 020 7236 1177 Susie Geliher St Brides Media & Finance Ltd Tel: 020 7236 1177
