Greenvironment receives major order for an 800 kW-microturbine plant in the Czech Republic

- First large plant order of Greenvironment for biogas in the Czech Republic - Strong demand for similar projects expected in 2011 - Plant serves also as pilot site for Calnetix/GE waste heat recovery module installation Berlin, 13th December 2010 – Greenvironment plc received today an order from Gascontrol společnost s.r.o for an 800 kW-plant with microturbines to be built in Havirov, Czech Republic.

The commissioning is scheduled for the second quarter of 2011.

Simultaneously, GGC společnost s r.o., a Joint Venture of Gascontrol and Greenvironment, will install the first Calnetix/GE waste heat recovery module as a pilot installation for the electricity generation from waste heat of the 800 kW microturbine at the same location. “The cooperation with Greenvironment has been intensified step by step.

After installation of the first turbine in April 2010 and the establishment of the Joint Venture GGC, we’ve now ordered an 800 kW microturbine for a biogas plant in Havirov.

Especially important for us is the first installation of a 125 kW Calnetix/GE waste heat recovery module, which will be integrated in the 800 kW microturbine CHP plant for renewed electricity generation from waste heat.

This will increase the overall efficiency even more”, says Mr Mieczyslaw Molenda, founder and director of Gascontrol. “This order confirms the success of our continuous operation on the Czech market and the valuable cooperation with Gascontrol.

The 800 kW reference plant will significantly support our sales activities.

Therefore, we expect a strong demand in the next year with a view to further similar projects in the Czech Republic”, commented Mr Peter Dorner, COO of Greenvironment plc. Matti Malkamäki, CEO of Greenvironment plc, states: “The innovative technology for power generation from waste heat was originally developed by the US-company Calnetix Power Solutions (CPS).

In the beginning of October 2010, CPS was taken over by GE Jenbacher, the gas engine business unit of the GE Power & Water Group.

This development proves clearly, that Greenvironment is on the market at the right time with the right products.

Because of the high degree of efficiency and the practically not existing emissions we see extensive growth potential for this sector.”
