Vancouver, B.C.: Meritus Minerals Ltd. (MML) (TSX-V - MER) is pleased to announce the results from five more drill holes on the Toordogiin Shil Prospect on its wholly owned Gutain Davaa project in Mongolia.
Highlights from the five recent holes are as follows:

TSD026 intersected 5.65 meters averaging 11.14 g/t Au, with a second intersection 35 meters further down hole of 3.30 meters averaging 9.94 g/t Au; TSD032 intersected 19.5 meters averaging 1.96 g/t Au including a 2.15 meter section that averages 9.37 g/t Au.

TSD026 is approximately 50m southeast of TSD032. The wide separation (35m) of the two high grade intersections in TSD026 may indicate discovery of a second zone of significant mineralization.

TSD032 is the northern most holes drilled to date. The zone containing high grade mineralization has now been traced for a total length of 290 meters over a vertical range of 135 meters and is open along strike in both directions as well as at depth.

The following table gives details of the assays from the five holes reported in this release.

Meritus has now completed the planned program and has received assays for and reported on 30 of the 36 holes drilled. The drills are currently standing down while plans are being developed for a winter program.

SAMPLING PROCEDURE
Drill core is transported from drill site to camp where it is logged and cut in half by diamond saw. One half of the core is retained for reference, the other half is sampled in approximately 1metre intervals. Samples are transported to a laboratory in Ulaan Baatar and are crushed and completely pulverized to 90% passing 75 microns.

Two pulps are split from the pulverized sample. One set of pulps is retained by the laboratory for ICP analysis when required. The second set is forwarded to Meritus where sequentially numbered standards and blanks are included. This set of pulps is then forwarded to a second laboratory where fire assay for gold is carried out on a 30 gram charge. Finish is by AAS.

Two standards and one blank are included with every 25 samples submitted. On receipt of results duplicates of selected pulps are forwarded to a third laboratory for check fire assay and to test the efficiency of the pulverization carried out by the preparation laboratory.
