Happy Creek Drills 102.5 metres of 0.30% Copper in Highland Valley B.C.

Happy Creek Drills 102.5 metres of 0.30% Copper in Highland Valley B.C.

Highlights: Neighboring Highland Valley Mine Currently Producing at .26% Copper Aggressive Drilling Continues Well Financed - $2.25 million in treasury

September 8, 2010 - Vancouver, British Columbia - Happy Creek Minerals Ltd. (TSX-V: HPY, the "Company") is happy to announce additional drill results from the Phase 1 program on its Rateria property, Highland Valley area B.C.

The Company has a 100% interest in approximately 145 square kilometres of mineral claims that adjoin Tecks Highland Valley Copper (HVC) mine property, Canadas largest copper producer, located in south central British Columbia. HVC is currently mining material from three different open pits that have recently averaged approximately 0.26 percent (%) copper.

Zone 1 is located approximately 6.5 kilometres southeast of Tecks Highmont mine, and approximately 7 to15 metres of glacial till overlies the bedrock in this area.

New results from Zone 1 are 145.3 metres containing 0.25% copper from surface that includes 102.5 metres of 0.30% copper in hole R10-13. Anomalous values up to 0.19% copper occur near the end of the hole at 230.7 metres. R10-13, drilled to the east at -55 degrees, is located approximately 125 metres north of R10-11 and 12 in Zone 1 (Press Release dated July 12, 2010). Final results of 2010 Phase 1 drilling in Zone 1 are presented below.

David Blann, P.Eng., President and CEO of Happy Creek states: "So far we have discovered two new copper zones thought to have resource potential in Highland Valley. Zone 1 has the key geology, alteration and mineralization that is similar to Lornex and Valley, the large deposits in production to the north. It is encouraging to see this similar geology and copper grades at surface, and the positive geochemical and geophysical signatures go well beyond what we have drilled."

Happy Creek has engaged AMEC Americas (Mining and Metals) of Vancouver, B.C., to perform targeting and economic modeling potentially leading to a resource estimate of its Highland Valley and other projects.

Copper mineralization in Zone 1 is comprised of dominantly bornite, chalcocite and minor chalcopyrite (copper sulphides) and trace pyrite (iron sulphide) occurs locally. This mineralization also contains some minor silver and molybdenum values and is associated with quartz and sericite alteration near the contact between the Bethsaida and Skeena Phase intrusive rocks that are also host to the Highmont, Lornex and Valley deposits currently in production to the north. Several drill holes have intersected zones of stronger mineralization including 11.0 metres grading 1.45% copper, 8.0 grams per tonne (g/t) silver and 7.5 metres of 1.26% copper, 3.1 g/t silver. Drilling in Zone 1 has outlined mineralization for over 600 metres in a north-south direction, to a depth of 300 metres and mineralization remains undefined and open in extent.

Zone 2 is located approximately 2.0 kilometres northeast of Zone 1 and on February 2, 2010, the Company announced significant rhenium (Re) occurs with the molybdenum values. Rhenium is mainly used in super-alloys and catalysts with prices forecast between $6,500 to $7,500/kilogram ($6.50-7.50/gram) over the next few years*. Drilling in Zone 2 has intersected positive copper, molybdenum, and locally rhenium, gold and silver values in an area approximately one kilometre by 600 metres in dimension. A portion of the results to date including final 2010 results are presented below.

The Company has also completed three reconnaissance diamond drill holes, mapping and sampling of several prospective areas on its 100% owned West Valley property and results are pending.

Phase 2 diamond drilling on the Rateria property is underway and planned to consist of up to 10 holes totaling 3,000 metres.
