The Crown Land Sale today in the Del Bonita Area of Southern Alberta (along the Alberta / Montana border) saw 21,344 ha.

(52,741 ac.) go for $39,674,331.

The sweet spots in the AB Basin Bakken Fairway garnered $3742/ha This was the largest land sale to date in this area (April - Sept. 2010).
An interesting observation could be made from this land sale as it showed the land closest to the border went for the highest prices and the cost per hectare was generally lower going north.

This has early potential indications that Industry feels the Bakken Fairway is more prolific south of the border in Montana than north into Alberta.
